No Lack Of Lacquer

a-england Tess D’Urbervilles

First off, I should apologise for the overexposure of my fingers in these photos. With a varnish as dark as Tess D’Urbervilles, my camera just couldn’t handle the contrast. I really need a lightbox.

So! Tess D’Urbervilles is part of a-england’s new Gothic Beauties collection, all five of which are based in the first collection’s black varnish, Camelot. The sheer amount of green flecks in here makes the base look more like a blackened green, but I can assure you it’s pure black. It’s a wonderfully witchy combination! There’s a teeny tiny bit of colour shift in the bottle towards the blue end of the spectrum, though it doesn’t show up on the nail, sadly. You could almost certainly get away with just one coat of Tess if you’re careful in your application, but I found two made for a flawless, rich colour.
